Does anyone have the dimensions of the game "washers"??

Does anyone have the dimensions of the game that is played in campgrounds called "washers"?? I need to know the dimensions of the boxes, the hole (tube), the distance between the boxes and the size of the washers. Thanks. jd

RE: Satellite's

Padre1, Thanks for the reply to the PM. U must be a silver tongue devil. I called DirecTV this afternoon about getting the free dish and tripod. They acted like I was on crack (and I've been with them since they were Primestar). I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the Wingard. The father-in-law is back from FL.

RE: Satellite's

This past weekend the DW and I went for a short trip. I borrowed my father-in-law's back up portable Wingard dish out of his Prevost coach. I had 2 extra DirecTV boxes that I put in the living room and bed room of the 5th wheel. I got up Saturday morning and was up in running in about 20 minutes. It was actually pretty easy and I got a great siginal and picture. You can buy the Wingard for $120 - $140 from Camping World. I just can't justify almost $700 for the VU-Cube.

RE: historical question: sedan roof mounted 5er hitches

I was at the 1977 American Quarter Horse World Finals in Tulsa, OK. and there was a guy there driving a Caddy and pulling a 2 horse trailer with the gooseneck plate attached to the roof of his car. He seemed pretty confident with the set up but the 2 horses looked pretty nervous!!!

RE: Camping with Kids around Virginia

Westmoreland State Park near Montross, Va. is pretty good. It's on the Potomac River. Stratford Hall (R.E.Lees birthplace) is about 2 miles away and George Washington's birthplace is about 5 miles away. There is also Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County, Va. It's fairly new. And there is Beth Page. It's the #1 Park in the US. Hope this helps. You can PM me if you have any questions.

How tight can you tighten your brakes down to??

My question is how tight can the brakes be tighten down to on your 5er?? This past weekend I was testing mine and when I use just the brake controller the unit will slow and stop but it will not totally lock the trailer wheels up. How tight can they be and how tight should they be?? I had the setting on the controller maxed out.

RE: are you getting the urge

My wife and I went for the weekend. We only went an hour away but it was great!! It's not how far you go but how much fun you have when you get there.

RE: Setting up my dish???

Update: We got to the State Park on Friday night. It was too late to try setting up the dish, so we just had happy hour and I waited until Saturday morning after breakfast. Got the dish out and was watching Direct TV in 20 minutes. Not too bad for the first attempt. As some other posters had said the compass on the dish is USELESS! I determined where south was by using in compass in my truck rear view mirror and guessed after that. I'll put a cheap compass in the 5er for next time. I also didn't use the portable signal finder but used the Direct TV signal finder instead. Now if I can just figure out how to get that hot tub to the campsite.

RE: Getting the gas hot water heater working

I've checked the manual and couldn't seem to find anything. I have one switch on the wall above the kitchen sink and then another one in the box where my slide buttons are. They both will glow red when I turn them on. I guess I just need to figure out which one is which.

RE: Getting the gas hot water heater working

I know both tanks are full. I don't know how or where to light the pilot light (or if I even have to light it). The heat is working so I know the gas is flowing.

Getting the gas hot water heater working

My wife and I just purchased a 2005 King of the Road Royal Villa. We are taking it out for the first time this weekend. The electric hot water heater works with no problem. My question is how do I get the LP gas to run the hot water heater???

RE: Setting up my dish???

mfox20, I went to the DirecTV and looked for a place to enter the zip code to get the information but couldn't find it. Can you give me an address to get the data???

Setting up my dish???

I've got the portable Wingard dish and the meter box. How much trouble I am going to have setting this up?? I called DirecTV to ask them some questions and I may as well saved my time. Do I hook everything up and then go through the installation process using the menu on the reciever?? Will it tell me the bearing and elevation to point the dish?? Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Here's a good one...what toilet paper to use in a camper??

Ok, I'm sure this will get several replies. My wife and I are just getting into RV'ing and we are going on our first trip this weekend. My questions is...do we use regular TP or do we use the RV TP that they sell in most (all) RV dealers and RV stores???

RE: King of the Road Pin Weight

The unit I have is a 2005 Royal Villa 34BW. The weight of the unit is somewhere between 14000 and 15000.
